Darknet Chemical Weapon: Missouri Man Attempts To Murder 300 People

A Missouri resident who had been accused of attempting to buy a darknet chemical weapon capable of taking the lives of hundreds of people had received his sentencing.

The Columbian man, identified as Jason Siesser and aged 46 years, had pleaded the previous year for attempting to acquire a darknet chemical weapon alongside aggravated identity theft. He had been sentenced to 12 years (144 months) behind bars on Tuesday by Jefferson City federal court on one count of attempting to procure a chemical weapon and another count of aggravated identity theft.

The undercover officers in July 2018 had watched the accused as he paid Bitcoin (BTC) roughly $150 to a seller for a darknet chemical weapon mentioned in the court documents. The chemical weapon had been described as a “highly poisonous liquid” that “may raise life-threatening systemic effects with just a single drop”.

The accused had ordered a specific amount of the darknet chemical weapon using a child’s name without his permission to have killed hundreds of people, specifically about 300 individuals, said the authorities. But the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) had not specified how he acquired the juvenile’s name.

On the 4th of July and the 5th of August, he had ordered in total five 10ml units of dimethylmercury which is a highly volatile, flammable, colourless and reactive neurotoxin. This chemical gets easily absorbed through the skin, causing severe mercury poisoning. The chemical causes physical impairment, slurred speech, loss of hearing, blindness, vomiting, coma and even death.

“I plan to use it soon after I receive it,” Siesser told the seller, according to court documents. “I don’t really have any concerns. If you have any tips or care to offer advice feel free.”

As the package had arrived at the accused’s Columbia residence, the authorities had watched him sign the delivery consignment and opened his front door for ventilating the residence, stated the court documents. Following this, the police had executed a search warrant.

The authorities had found the package containing an “inert substance” inside the residence placed next to the seemingly unopened parcels containing 10 grams of cadmium arsenide (a toxic compound proving deadly if inhaled or ingested), approx. — 500 milliliters of hydrochloric acid and 100 grams of cadmium metal. An invoice of the 30th of March, 2018 had proved his purchase. Additionally, they had also discovered rhyming poems based on a breakup, anger and resentment. The write-ups also bore a desire of the person behind the heartache to die, the authorities said.

In an interview, the accused had stated that he had divorced his wife the previous year. A woman with whom he had three dates had broken up with him, leaving him depressed, mentions the authorities.

“Siesser wrote fictional stories about men exacting vengeance on ex-girlfriends,” court documents say. “In one story, a man used a fertilizer spreader to lace a woman’s yard with asbestos, which ultimately killed her decades later. In another story, a man locked a woman in scuba gear in a submerged box so she would die when her oxygen tank was depleted.”

The accused had revealed that he ordered the darknet chemical weapon for experiments on biohacking, a form of gene editing via protein manipulation. Nevertheless, his residence bore no other lab equipment, and the accused had never been educated or trained in Chemistry, the authorities added. They said that the home for children group had employed him under contract with the State of Missouri during the investigation.
